About us

Small on purpose

No junior learning on your paperwork, nobody passing messages on, and nothing between you and an answer.

Who you deal with

Two people. That is the whole firm.

NY Accountants is a two-person practice working with clients all over the UK. Staying small is a choice, not a stage we are trying to grow out of. There is no junior learning on your file, and nobody in the middle passing messages on.

We work the way a good finance team works. Get the filing right and get it done early. Keep the records tidy enough to be useful. Then spend the time left on the decisions that actually change what you take home: how you pay yourself, when to buy, and whether the way you are set up still suits you.

Most of our clients run their own company, rent out property, or work for themselves. They have outgrown a folder of receipts and want the kind of thinking a much bigger business would pay a lot more for.

You should never hear about a deadline from HMRC first. Staying ahead of them is the least we do.

A client meeting in progress

Where we work

Wherever you are

We work with clients in every part of the UK. Where you live changes nothing. You get the same two people, the same price and the same list of deadlines whether you are ten minutes away or four hundred miles.

It all happens online. You send your paperwork from your phone or your computer, we answer questions by phone or email, and we go through the numbers on a video call when it suits you. If meeting in person would genuinely help, we will arrange it.

  • Clients in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
  • Send your paperwork securely from anywhere
  • Talk by video call, phone or email. Your choice
  • The same price wherever you live

What changes

Three things you should notice in the first three months

Not adjectives. Things you can actually check.

A deadline calendar kept by the practice for a client

You stop keeping track of deadlines

Every date that applies to you goes on one list that we own: accounts, company tax, VAT, payroll, Self Assessment. You get a reminder well before each one, and we file early rather than on the day.

A client talking directly to their accountant

You talk to the person doing the work

There are two of us and we are both senior. Nobody passes your question on to someone you have never met, and there is no queue.

Records kept up to date through the year instead of at the year end

Your paperwork stops being a January problem

We set your records up once, properly, so they meet the Making Tax Digital rules without adding anything to your week.

How it works

Four steps, and three of them are ours

Changing accountant sounds like hard work. It is not, and almost none of it falls to you.

  1. A first phone call with a new client01

    A free 20-minute chat

Tell us what you do and what you need. No charge, no pressure and no sales pitch.

  2. A written price being prepared for a new client02

    A price in writing

Within one working day you get one monthly price and a list of exactly what it covers.

  3. Client records being collected when changing accountant03

    We do the moving

We write to your old accountant, collect your paperwork and register with HMRC. You sign one form.

  4. The month-to-month routine of bookkeeping and filing04

    You stop worrying about it

We remind you before every deadline and file early. You hear from us before you hear from HMRC.
